C5 Ranch

The owners of C5 Ranch had shopped their vision to a number of different builders, but non were willing to take them on. After all, they had a unique vision of building a barn that would be able to retract its walls like garage doors. While common in dry, hot climates like Texas, these barns are virtually unheard of in the cool climate of the Canadian prairies.

Ironwood agreed to take on this project, and it ended up producing an amazing final product.

The barn is based at the foot of the Rocky Mountains and features retractable walls that offers riders a 360 degree view of the beautiful landscape of the foothills as they ride.

The 12,000 square foot riding arena is used to train cutting horses, meaning that the building features no electricity or water, but is built with a passive solar design to keep temperatures pleasantly cool during any season.
